Copenhagen, DK 27 October 2023 - We are excited to announce that we have acquired international sales rights for the 3D animated action-adventure SUPER CHARLIE. A fun and warm-hearted story for the entire family about a special baby with superpowers.
SUPER CHARLIE is based on the universe from the widely popular book series of the same name, written by famous crime author Camilla Läckberg, marking her debut in children's literature. The book series is already available in over 60 countries, and it is set to be franchised.
Directed and written by Jon Holmberg, known for Berlinale-selected SUNE VS. SUNE (2019) and SUNE - BEST MAN (2020), and with animation by Oscar- nominated director Karsten Killerich (WHEN LIFE DEPARTS, 1997). SUPER CHARLIE is set to captivate audiences of all ages, especially the young ones, and with its uplifting story of friendship and collaboration.
The high-quality animation is produced by Nordisk Film, and co-produced by A. Film, the production house behind beloved animations and box-office hits including HELP! I’M A FISH (2000), TERKEL IN TROUBLE (2004), NIKO AND THE WAY TO THE STARS (2008) and CHECKERED NINJA (2018), to name a few.
Synopsis:
Wille (10) has always dreamed of becoming a superhero and fighting crime alongside his father, who is a policeman. However, his dream is shattered when his baby brother Charlie is born. Not only does Charlie get all the attention, but Wille also discovers that Charlie has superpowers.
When a supervillain and a deranged scientist enact their evil plan, Wille and Charlie need to put their differences aside and work as a team. But can an infant and his envious brother save the city?
