TrustNordisk is proud to announce that the award-winning festival darling ANOTHER ROUND directed by Thomas Vinterberg and produced by Zentropa has just been nominated for the 78th Annual Golden Globe® Awards.

We are excited to share the wonderful news that our Danish drama, ANOTHER ROUND, directed by award-winning Thomas Vinterberg and produced by Zentropa, has been nominated for a Golden Globe within the category “Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language”.

Director Thomas Vinterberg comments on the nomination:

'Thank you, Hollywood Foreign Press. It’s an honor that a film about embracing life should be embraced by you in this strange year. I am grateful to my amazing collaborators both behind and in front of the camera, especially the great Mads Mikkelsen, who with the other actors, did his very best to make me laugh, and succeeded.'

Managing director of TrustNordisk, Susan Wendt, adds:

'This is fantastic news. We are excited that the film is honoured with this prestigious nomination, clearly underlining the high appreciation of the film. We see this as a good indication towards the film hopefully being on the Oscar shortlist next week.'

The Danish drama and official Oscar entry for 2021 has been on an amazing journey already and is highly praised among the global audience, critics and festivals. Having sold no less than 800,000 admissions locally in the time of a pandemic as well as more than 60,000 digital copies upon the feature's digital release, ANOTHER ROUND has become Vinterberg's greatest cinema success to date and the best selling film digitally in Denmark.

The film has not only won the hearts of the audience, it has also been sold to most territories world-wide as well as received high appraisals and awards from the international critics and festivals. In the US, the film is released by Samuel Goldwyn Films.

A golden festival ride
The film was honoured with the official selection label at Cannes Film Festival 2020 as well as Toronto International Film Festival 2020, where it had its international premiere. In addition, the drama won the award ‘Prix des Cinémas Art et Essai in France’, the LFF Virtual Audience Award for ‘Best Film’ at the BFI London Film Festival 2020, the Silver Shell for ‘Best Actor’ at the 68th San Sebastian Film Festival, and no less than four awards at the 33rd European Film Awards 2020 ('Best European Film', 'Best European Director', 'Best European Actor', 'Best European Screenwriter' plus a nomination for the new Lux European Audience Award). In addition, the film has been selected for Competition at Göteborg International Film Festival 2021 and nominated for the 25th annual Satellite Awards within the category "Motion Picture, International".

Besides being selected as Denmark’s official contender in the International Feature Film category for the 2021 Academy Awards® and now being nominated for the 78th Annual Golden Globe® Awards, this marks the high quality of Vinterberg's ANOTHER ROUND and the strong global affection for it.
