The psychological drama COPENHAGEN DOES NOT EXIST directed by Martin Skovbjerg brings home the award for best film at Burgas International Film Festival. 

Copenhagen, 22 July 2023 – Burgas International Film Festival has last night hosted its awards ceremony, announcing COPENHAGEN DOES NOT EXIST as the winner of the main competition. 

The feature has been hitting the festival scene since its selection at International Film Festival Rotterdam, where it had its world premiere as part of the The Big Screen Competition back in January 2023. 
Other festivals selection include Göteborg Film Festival , Istanbul International Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Ghent  Flanders Int. Film Festival, and many others.

COPENHAGEN DOES NOT EXIST marks the sophomore feature of talented director Martin Skovbjerg, following his break-out debut STICKS & STONES (2018), that screened at the BFI London Film Festival. The film is based on a script by award-winning writer and director Eskil Vogt, known for the Academy Award®-nominated THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD (2021), the Cannes-selected THE INNOCENTS (2021) and THELMA (2017). Eva Jakobsen, Katrin Pors and Mikkel Jersin of Copenhagen-based Snowglobe produces.
