TrustNordisk has closed a large number of deals on Susanne Bier´s upcoming film A SECOND CHANCE.

Since presales start was announced just prior to AFM, distributors have been standing in line to acquire the new film from the Academy Award ®-winning director.

A SECOND CHANCE, which will start shooting later this month, has now been sold to Germany and Austria (Prokino), Australia and New Zealand (MadMan), Japan (Longride), Benelux (Cineart), Israel (Lev Cinema) and Former Yugoslavia (Discovery) with further negotiations going on in a large number of territories.

“Prokino is very happy to work again with Susanne Bier, Sisse Graum Jørgensen and the great team at Trust on this wonderful script, a very human drama with so many clever twists, that it kept us on the edge of our seats while reading it,“ says Ira von Gienanth, Managing Director for Aquisitions at Prokino.

“The massive interest from buyers at AFM for Susanne Bier´s new film underlines her status as a star director who knows how to touch the audience in the most powerful way. We are so happy to have all these dedicated distributors aboard," says Rikke Ennis, CEO at TrustNordisk.

Starring Danish actor and international star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (BLACK HAWK DOWN, KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and GAME OF THRONES) in the leading role, and with more cast to be announced shortly, A SECOND CHANCE focuses on how far decent human beings are willing to go, when tragedy blurs the line between just and unjust? With A SECOND CHANCE, Susanne Bier and Anders Thomas Jensen have crafted another startling yet moving drama, about how easily we lose our grasp on justice, when we face the unthinkable and life as we know it hangs by a thread.

A SECOND CHANCE is directed by Susanne Bier, written by Anders Thomas Jensen, story by Anders Thomas Jensen and Susanne Bier and produced by Sisse Graum Jørgensen for Zentropa Entertainments14 in co-production with Zentropa International Sweden, Film i Väst. With support from The Danish Film Institute, FilmFyn, The Swedish Film Institute, Nordisk Film & TV Fond and Eurimages, in cooperation with DR, SVT.
