Clinching more than 50 deals with almost 40 distributors worldwide, Danish international sales company, TrustNordisk, saw this year’s Cannes International Film festival as ”the best market for years”. For TrustNordisk, Cannes 2011 was the best market in years. Besides having three titles officially selected – MELANCHOLIA in Competition, VOLCANO in Directors’ Fortnight and OUT OF BOUNDS in Special Screening – more than 50 deals were done to over 38 international distributors encapsulating all territories in the world, stretching from Asia to Middle East and including all the major players from the English speaking territories.

Sunday, this years’ Cannes Film Festival announced its prizes where Kirsten Dunst was awarded for her great performance in Lars von Trier’s competition film, MELANCHOLIA.  She gives a deeply felt performance as a newly-wed bride, Justine, while the planet Earth is on collision course with another planet. The character is a depressed young woman, and Dunst says that she “understood a little of what Justine was going through'” to the Mail Online.
