Avalon team goes Under The Pyramid
Erika Wasserman of Stockholm-based Idyll/Fasad is here in Berlin with festival hit Avalon, is also working on director Axel Petersen’s next film, UNDER THE PYRAMID.
The film will shoot in January 2013, set in Los Angeles, Israel, Egypt and Sweden.
“It’s about art, commerce and politics,” Wasserman tells Screen. The story is about a woman trying to find her absent father, who is an art gallery owner.

Swedish film director exposes aging spoiled brats in Avalon
A 31-year old Swedish director has taken a swipe at a segment of Sweden's older generation in his first feature film, Avalon. 2011-09-18-Avalonposter.jpgThe film premiered last week at the 2011 Toronto Int'l Film Festival. AVALON WINS FIPRESCI DISCOVERY AWARD IN TORONTO
AVALON has won the FIPRESCI Discovery Award for Best Feature Film debut at the Toronto International Film Festival 2011. FIPRESCI, which is the international federation of film critics, gave the following verdict from their jury:
”An assured, darkly humorous portrait of an affluent class in hedonistic self-denial, Avalon marks the arrival of a promising new voice in Swedish filmmaking.”
