TRUSTNORDISK to kick off presales on A MAN CALLED OVE at AFM

TrustNordisk will kick off presales on the upcoming adaptation of the huge Swedish book success; the dramedy A MAN CALLED OVE at American Film Market.

Based on the bestselling book by Fredrik Backman, A MAN CALLED OVE tells a heartfelt, poetic and humoristic story about a grumpy old man who has given up on everyone including himself. But his life and negative approach to the world is put to the test when a new family moves in next door.

 

The film, which is currently in pre-production will be directed by Swedish director Hannes Holm who has previously directed the successful dramedy BEHIND BLUE SKIES (2010) and the box office hit-franchise about the Andersson family (THE ANDERSSONS IN GREECE (2912) and THE ANDERSSONS HIT THE ROAD (2013).

Cast for the film is yet to be announced.

Fredrik Backman´s book of the same name about the 59 year-old curmudgeon has been a huge hit, since it was released in 2012 and the book rights have currently been sold to more than 30 countries, including Germany, France, UK, Spain and Italy.

A MAN CALLED OVE is produced by Annica Bellander for Tre Vänner in co-operation with Film i Väst, SVT, Nordisk Film with support from The Swedish Film Institute. More investors will follow shortly.

Domestic release is currently set for December 2015.
