Actor Nikolaj Lie Kaas has been chosen for the lead in the upcoming adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES.
Nikolaj Lie Kaas has starred in domestic box office hits such as THE CANDIDATE (2008) and A FUNNY MAN (2011) and is internationally known for his roles in ANGELS AND DEMONS (2009) and THE WHISTLEBLOWER (2010).
Lie Kaas will play the part of investigator Carl Mørck.
Directed by Mikkel Nørgaard and with screenplay by Nikolaj Arcel THE KEEPER OF LOST CAUSES tells the story about the two policemen Carl Mørck and Hafez el Hassad who get involved in a five-year-old case concerning a missing woman, Merete, and soon they are on a journey through Scandinavia’s darkest corners to find a psychopathic killer.
TrustNordisk is pre-selling the film in Cannes and has already sold to NFP Marketing & Distribution for Germany and Austria and Frenetic Films for Switzerland.

The production is set to begin in October 2012.
