TrustNordisk is proud to see that BLONDIE has been selected for Toronto's VANGUARD section, which presents fresh, cutting edge works.
Starring an all-star cast and shot in Sweden, UK and France, BLONDIE is a female-led drama, returning to the classical portrait of a family.
Three sisters, all adrift and in crisis, reunite at their childhood home as their domineering mother arranges a big birthday. But the festivities soon come to an end, repressed conflicts rise to the surface. Old wounds are opened and a new family is born. BLONDIE presents impressive perfomances by iconic actress Marie Goranzon (the mother) and Alexandra Dahlstrøm, Helene af Sandeberg and Carolina Gynning. Olli Sarri, who played the lead in THE APE, stars in one of the few male roles.
BLONDIE has also been chosen as one of the 12 films screening at this year's Venice Days and it marks director Jesper Ganslandt’s continued success at prestigious film festivals. His feature film debut, the multiple award-winner FALKENBERG FAREWELL (2006), screened in both Venice and Toronto and was chosen as the Academy Award-Nominee contender from Sweden. Also screening in Venice and Toronto was Ganslandt’s second feature THE APE (2009), which was much appraised by critics. BLONDIE is Ganslandt’s third feature film.
The film is produced by Jesper Kurlandsky, Fasad AB. Co-producers are Film i Väst/Jessica Ask, Sveriges Television/Gunnar Carlsson and Dagsljus. The film is supported by The Swedish Film Institute and is set for a domestic release on 23. November 2012.
